Jerry “Sugarbowl” Collins, age 76, of Benton, KY passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. 

 

Jerry was born in Benton, KY on February 4, 1944 to the late Luther and Lenice Marie (Rule) Collins. Jerry worked as a truck driver for the Marshall Refuse and he was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed skating, model cars, dancing, and riding his trike. Jerry was a hard worker who was always helping others out and sharing. He loved to spoil his grandchildren and his dogs, and his grandchildren meant the world to him.

 

Jerry is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Wylinda (Driskill) Collins; one daughter, Teresa Marie Morgan and husband Charles of Watervalley, KY; one son, Curtis Lee Collins and wife Janet of Benton, KY; one brother, William Porter Collins and wife Ann of Michigan; five grandchildren, Nicole Marie Peters, Joshua Lee Collins, Sabrina Taylor Archer and husband TJ , Jeremiah Taylor Collins, Glenn Nathan Morgan; one great-grandchild, Josiah James Archer; and several other adopted grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and several Collins and McKendree brothers and sisters.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr. Pastor Dale Barkley will be officiating and burial will follow at Birmingham Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
